WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!
WHO CAN AUDITION?
Anyone from 5 (generally) on up (yes, even adult ages) that is willing and able to follow directions and have useful fun!
WHERE ARE THE SHOWS & REHEARSALS?
At CPP's Youtheatre Players space at the (formerly Westfield) Palm Desert Mall.
WHEN ARE THE REHEARSALS?
Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Sundays from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and, Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. NOTE: Not all cast may be needed at all rehearsals or for all the scheduled rehearsal time on any day. Additional rehearsals may be called, if needed, with Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 most likely option (but otherwise based on cast consultation as to scheduling. SEE ALSO Calendar to left.
WHAT IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE
~ Each participant must pre-sell five (5) public tickets @ $8 each (= $40 due at orienation).
~ Each participant must be OFF-BOOK when requested!
~ Each participant must provide all conflict information up front AND
~ Once casting and rehearsing commences, must see their commitment through to the end.
~ A PARENT of any participant under 18 MUST come in to complete paperwork at orientation.
WHAT IS EXPECTED IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE
~ Each participant should proudly support and promote the show! This includes - distribute show fliers/posters at businesses, promote the show on social media, encourage classmates/ friends/ family members to attend, and help seek support (financial or otherwise) for the show.
~ Each participant (or someone on his/her behalf) should volunteer time to help with costumes, sets, props, show tech, backstage assistance, box office, snack management, or other areas).
~ Each participant should demonstrate, through actions and attitudes: commitment, non-disruptive behavior, respect, compliance (cast & parents), willingness to follow directions, timeliness (at and on-time to all rehearsals and called times), desire to excel.
~ Each participant should not leave any rehearsal or other called time before being officially dismissed AND all parents follow the proper procedures for picking up their participant children.
~ Each participant and all volunteers should dress appropriately and be mindful of language.
~ Parents should not use the threat of pulling their child participant from the production as punishment – it is unfair to the other participants, to the production, and, by extension, the community we serve.
~ It is highly recommended that all valuables be left at home. There is no secure place to keep them in the rehearsal/performance space.
REPERCUSSIONS FOR VIOLATIONS OF REQUIREMENTS OR EXPECTATIONS!
~ You may be asked to leave the production
~ You may be given a different role in the production
~ You will not be refunded your deposit money (though you will still get your 5 tickets)
~ We reserve the right to implement monetary fines and penalties for violations.
